What ages do you serve?

Waypoint Kids is available for children from birth through 5th grade. Every environment is designed with your child's age and stage in mind, offering engaging Bible teaching, fun activities, and caring leaders who are passionate about helping kids know and follow Jesus.

What happens during Kids Ministry?

Waypoint Kids is designed to help children grow in their faith while preparing them to participate in the life of the church. Our goal is to help kids learn about God and grow in their faith in a fun, age-appropriate, and Christ-centered environment. After check-in, children have the opportunity to enjoy our giant indoor playscape before gathering for Kids Worship. Throughout the morning, they rotate through engaging experiences that include Bible teaching, worship, games, Scripture memory, crafts, and more. Every part of the morning is intentionally designed to help kids know Jesus, love His Word, and build meaningful friendships.

How do you keep children safe?

Your child's safety is one of our highest priorities. Every Waypoint Kids volunteer must be a Waypoint member for at least six months, pass a background check, and successfully finish MinistrySafe sexual abuse awareness training before serving. We also follow a two-adult policy, meaning no adult is ever alone with a child. Our children's spaces are equipped with security cameras, and we use a secure check-in/check-out process to help ensure every child is picked up safely. We are committed to creating an environment where children can learn about Jesus in a safe, secure, and caring setting.

What should I expect on my first visit?

We know visiting a new church can feel overwhelming, so we want to make your first visit as easy as possible. When you arrive, stop by the Waypoint Kids Check-In area, where one of our friendly volunteers will greet your family, answer any questions, and help you register your child. After check-in, we'll personally walk you to your child's classroom, introduce you to their leaders, and explain our secure pickup process. During Kids Worship, your child will experience engaging Bible teaching, fun activities, and caring leaders who are excited to help them know and follow Jesus.

How do you partner with parents to help kids follow Jesus?

At Waypoint, we believe the Bible teaches that parents are the primary disciple-makers of their children (Deuteronomy 6:4–9; Ephesians 6:4). While the church has an important role, God has entrusted parents with the primary responsibility of pointing their children to know, love, and follow Jesus. Because of this, our goal is not simply to teach children on Sundays—it is to come alongside parents by encouraging, equipping, and supporting them as they disciple their families throughout the week. To help accomplish this, Waypoint uses the Milestone Path as our strategy for partnering with parents through every stage of a child's life. The Milestone Path provides intentional training, and practical resources that equip parents to confidently pass on the Christian faith at home. We don't want to replace what God has called parents to do—we want to help them do it faithfully.

Can my child stay with me during the service?

Absolutely! Children are always welcome in our worship services. While we believe Waypoint Kids provides an engaging, age-appropriate environment for children to learn about Jesus, we also recognize the value of families worshiping together. You're encouraged to choose the option you decide is best for your family.

What to Expect on Sundays

Walking into a new church can feel a little intimidating — we get it. That's why we want you to know exactly what to expect before you even walk through the doors. You'll be greeted with a smile (not a spotlight). Come as you are — jeans, t-shirt, Sunday best, it doesn't matter. Our people are here to make you feel at home, not put you on the spot. You won't be asked to stand up, wear a name tag, or introduce yourself to the whole room. We just want you to relax, worship, and see what God might have for you here

Friendly Welcome

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. The Bible will be the source of truth for each sermon and will be on the screen for you to follow along. Need a Bible? Just let us know and we would love to provide you with one.

At Waypoint, worship is more than a Sunday service — it's a lifestyle. It's how we honor God's worth in our lives, both together as a church family and in our own private time with Him. Everyone expresses worship differently, you can expect to see some hands raised and others praising God with their voices. He is worthy of praise!

Meet Our Pastor

Dr. Danny Forshee has been our lead pastor for over 15 years. Danny has devoted his whole life to teaching the Bible and making disciples of Jesus. Additionally, his nonprofit organization, DFEA, publishes weekly content to equip and inspire Christian leaders across the country, and has served in a number of leadership roles with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. He's also published a number of books aimed at making the teachings of Scripture clear to everyone.
